Call for contribution: Vaccines On Tour - Why Should We Care About Vaccination?
The Babraham Institute, a bioscience research institute based just outside Cambridge, UK is seeking interested parties to develop a new cutting-edge museum exhibit on vaccinations, which will tour the UK and potentially Europe in the next few years. More information about the project here.
Call for papers: CIMUSET-CIMCIM Conference 2020, 4-6 February, Paris, France

Call for proposals: Living Knowledge Conference, 24-26 June, Groningen, the Netherlands
The 9th edition of Living Knowledge is now accepting proposals. As on previous editions, Living Knowledge favours interactions over one-way presentations, hence priority will be given to creative formats with interactive elements. The aim of the conference is to bring together those doing research with and for communities. The deadline for submissions is 15 December. Call for nominations and proposals: British Science Festival 2020
This year's edition will be hosted by the Anglia Ruskin University. The Festival is a gathering of people to celebrate the latest developments in research and engage in open discussions. The proposals should be aimed at non-specialist adults with an interest in science. Deadline for nominations 6 January 2020. Deadline for proposals 17 February 2020. Call for submissions: Bristol Science Film Competition 2020, Bristol, United Kingdom
Films can now be submitted for the coming edition, scheduled to take place on 6 June 2020. The competition is open to amateur and experienced filmmakers alike. Films need to be under 10 minutes long and be based on a science fact or fiction theme. Visit the Competition's website to find more detailed information regarding the criteria. Deadline for submissions is 1 May 2020.
Courses
Inspiring young people in STEM, online course, can be joined at any time
The National STEM Learning Centre of UK put together a series of four courses on the platform Future Learn. This program aims to help students develop their volunteering skills and STEM activities for young people. Courses are free and can be joined at any time. More information and registration.
CIMUSET-CSTM Training Workshop 2019, 18-25 November, Beijing, China
The CIMUSET-CSTM workshop: Developing Learning Programs in Science Centres & Museums will take place from 18 to 25 November at the China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing.
Future of Science Communication Workshop, 2 December, Science Gallery, Dublin, Ireland
A workshop designed to equip science communicators with tools and skills to tackle current issues.
Conferences and meetings
SciShops Symposium 2020, 30-31 January, Brescia, Italy
The event will take place at the University of Brescia and will provide a platform for skills development, knowledge research, and networking for members of the Science Shops community. Registration is now open, please visit the Symposium's official website for further information.
CIMUSET-CIMCIM Conference 2020, 4-6 February, Paris, France
The 2020 CIMUSET-CIMCIM Conference will take place in Cité de la Musique in Paris. The main theme will be “functionality of museum objects and instruments”. 2nd GUNi International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals: Higher Education and Science take action, 5-6 March 2020, Barcelona, Spain
The second GUNi International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals will take place at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona on 5-6 March 2020. This second edition will put the spotlight on how higher education institutions are embedding sustainable development in their core missions and will focus on showcasing, explaining and sharing scientific research, innovative practices, projects, programmes and initiatives that university communities are carrying out with the aim of implementing the 2030 Agenda. Early bird registration will take place from 10 September to 1 December included.
PCST 2020: 16th International Public Communication of Science and Technology Conference, 26-28 May 2020, Aberdeen, Scotland
The 16th global conference of the Public Communication of Science and Technology Network will be hosted by the University of Aberdeen. It will explore the theme “Time, Technology and Transformation” and a call for proposals is currently open. Further details of the programme will be published over the coming months on the conference web site.
Living Knowledge Conference, 24-26 June 2020, Groningen, the Netherlands
The 9th edition will take place at the Academy Building and the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen. The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers working with and for communities. The idea is to share methods and experiences regarding the relationship between communities and research. As on previous editions, the conference will promote interactions and discussions, and is a great support to those involved in community-driven or collaborative research.
COST Action Symposium, 30 June - 2 July, Antwerp, Belgium
The final edition of the Symposium will take place in Antwerp next year. The theme will be "Citizen Science, a scientific diamond". Save the date.
ESOF 2020: Euroscience Open Forum, 5-9 July 2020, Trieste, Italy
The 9th edition of ESOF will take place from 5-9 July 2020 in Trieste. ESOF2020 Trieste generally aims to promote science, technology, and innovation as key drivers of a sustainable and responsible development that is people-centered; stimulate discussions concerning science, its applications, and impact, including ethical issues; and establish a platform where the dialogue between research institutions, academies and governments is fostered.
CitSciOz2020, 6-9 October 2020, Gold Coast, Australia
This edition will take place in the Gold Coast and its theme is "Inspire, Impact, Influence".
CitSci 2021, 25-29 May 2021, Phoenix, United States
The Citizen Science Association aims to harness the knowledge acquired by science practitioners and share it with citizens. This will be the third edition of the biennial conference. CitSci pays particular attention to innovative ideas and forging strong relationships and practices across the field. The May 2021 edition will take place in Pheonix. It is never too soon to start making plans.
