Universcience, the leading French public institution promoting scientific, technical and industrial culture in France, comprises the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, the Palais de la Découverte, leblob.fr, an online scientific information media, "Fablab à l’École", a nationwide cultural and scientific education programme, and the organisation of the "Spring of Critical Thinking" and the "Critical Thinking Barometer", designed to encourage critical thinking.

Relying on the commitment of its staff as well as on the support of numerous partners, Universcience will focus on three key areas in the coming years: innovation, sustainability and critical thinking.

The Cité des sciences et de l’industrie

Located in the North-Est of Paris, the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie hosts temporary and permanent scientific exhibitions, as well as an exhibition
space designed for children, a planetarium, a multimedia library and a resource centre. The Cité organises every year around twenty festivals and many conferences. Open to everyone, the Cité is accessible to disabled visitors of all kinds and has developed innovative services covering employment and careers.

The Palais de la découverte

Close to the Seine and the Champs-Elysées, the Palais de la Découverte is a world unique institution that first popularized “science in the making” when it opened in 1937. The Palais de la Découverte has been undergoing major renovation work since 2021 to modernise both the building itself and its cultural and scientific offering. Changes to scientific research and cultural practices call for a rethink of the museum as it nears its hundredth anniversary. The reopening of the Palais will be marked by fully restored spaces featuring redesigned exhibition and mediation tools and resources. In the meantime, the Palais continues its activities in a temporary and sustainable structure, the Etincelles du Palais de la Découverte, located in the South of Paris.
