We are pleased to announce that the International Science Summer Camp 2018 (ISSC) will be held from August 5 to August 11, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The programme will discover science around a topic Artificial Intelligence and provide an ideal platform for young people interested in science and technology to learn about different cultures and ideas while linking scientific theory with a practical approach. Furthermore, participants will be able to improve their presentation and communication skills.
The PSC is organizing its science festivity for the twelve’s year, under the overarching theme of “Marine Life” The PSC has implemented its first Science Festivity in 2007, and it has developed and expanded to be one of the highlights scientific annual events in Alexandria governorate, aiming to further expand geographically to be a national event for all Egyptians. The festivity has been expanding and gaining popularity over the past years. Both partners and participants await the annual event to enjoy a break with edutainment activities suitable for all family members.
The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in collaboration with Intel Egypt is organizing the seventh affiliate competition, Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair Egypt (Intel BASEF Egypt 2018) in all Egypt. The competition will empower Egyptian students ages 14 -18 to conduct a research and present their projects findings under 19 science and humanities themes. To enhance the quality of projects and expand geographically, the PSC is collaborating with the Ministry of Education to reach all governorates.

The Science Film Festival is a celebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, North Africa and the Middle East, produced by the Goethe-Institut, Germany´s Cultural Institute operating worldwide.

In November 2016 we were contracted to design, develop and fabricate two-thirds of the new interactive exhibits for the TŪHURA Otago Community Trust Science Centre, the redevelopment of Otago Museum’s former Discovery World Tropical Forest.
TŪHURA also encompasses the digitally interactive Beautiful Science Gallery, the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium and the refreshed Tropical Forest butterfly house.
TŪHURA inspires curiosity and encourages the next generation of young New Zealanders to take an interest in the world around them, since its opening in December 2017.
OliOli is the brainchild of parents who are passionate about positive play and the power of imagination. OliOli is the Hawaiian word for joy. Focused on hands-on activities that nurture curiosity, imagination and exploration, OliOli is an experiential play museum; with eight separate galleries spread over two floors. Each space has been lovingly and thoughtfully designed with fascinating art and innovative equipment, all inspired by ideas from leading global educators, development psychologists and artists.
After working successfully together in 2005, back then we designed The Green Cradle and The Dream of Space Flight galleries, we were now contracted to design, develop and fabricate interactive exhibits for the refurbishment of this exhibit area at Guangdong Science Center.
The remodeled and renamed Space Dreams & Green Homeland gallery was reopened to the public on August 7, 2017.

In January 2017 we have been awarded the contract to conceptualize, design and build Точка гравитации (lit. Point of Gravitation). Covering a floorspace of 600 sqm the Children‘s Science Museum is a dynamic learning space where children, families, and groups can create, innovate, collaborate, problemsolve, and invent. Through hands-on activities, they learn about: Mechanics, Mathematics, Magnetism, Optics & Light and Flow. Most importantly, they are empowered to construct their own knowledge and to solve problems in their own unique ways.
In October 2016, we were commissioned to conceptualize, design and build a new play area for the Monde des Enfants (lit. Children’s World). This new site called La Rivière en chantier (lit. River under construction) opened its doors in July 2017, enabling young visitors to play at being archaeologists or construction workers or simply to splash around in the two watercourses.
NorthernLight developed, designed and implemented Bright Ideas hub and challenge. The project is part of Shell’s ‘Generation Discover’ initiative and consists of a futuristic dome that will travel around The Netherlands for the coming 3 years, as well as an exciting digital challenge that can be done by children of group 7 of all Dutch primary schools. Through the Bright Ideas project, children can playfully discover the world of science and technology.
We are proud to have been part of the development team for the new Music Tour that has now been added to the Rijksmuseum app. NorthernLight was responsible for the concept, user experience design and content of the Rijksmuseum app, that is now in operation for 4 years and has had millions of users from around the world.
NorthernLight recently completed the design phase of the Sirius Art & Science Park. This ambitious project consists of the redevelopment of the media centre of the Olympic Village of Sochi. The aim is to turn the place into an enriching attraction that will become a destination for returning, multi-day visits. The project includes a talent development program as well.
Let’s YouTube, the world’s first exhibition about YouTube, has been nominated for the Children in Museums Award. This highly interactive exhibition, designed by NorthernLight for the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, enables visitors to experience the impact YouTube has on their lives. The exhibition has received a lot of attention in the media and on social media since its opening in October last year.
For the first time in the world, waiting rooms at railway stations have been enriched with precious objects and converted to mini museums. With the concept “The Museums of … “, NorthernLight follows the new identity of the three museums for world cultures, which are museums of and about people.
