Improving our work with and for marginalised groups of adult migrants and refugees.
Every two years, the Völklinger Hütte World Heritage Site’s UrbanArt Biennale® showcases the most recent developments and trends in international urban art. It is the largest urban art project in the world.
More than 400,000 people have visited the biennale since it was first held in 2011, and nearly 300 renowned urban artists, including Banksy, Shepard Fairey and Futura, have exhibited their work at Völklinger Hütte.
The exhibition Let's give the numbers! - A 3D journey through Fingers, Dice and Data: a fascinating interactive exhibition to discover the world of mathematics and numbers through games and stories. Figures, data, averages, errors, surveys, risk assessments: today we are called to deal more and more with the numbers and even if we can delegate these concerns to others, learning to use and understand the numbers helps us to orient ourselves in the world and take conscious decisions.
Game On 2.0 explores the vibrant history, culture and future of gaming, entertainment and technology through more than 150 playable games.
Visitors can play a range of games from arcade classics to modern favourites, including fun party games, such as Rock Band 3.
The exhibition also explores the latest developments in gaming, including how virtual reality is creating ever-more immersive gaming experiences.

"a modern Leonardo da Vinci".
These huge beach animals move with the force of the wind.
Thanks to primitive sensors they are able to evolve, with
one unique purpose: survival.

Summer, sweltering temperatures, sunshine, and …refreshing mist? This unlikely mixture was recently staged by the Effektschmiede on the square in front of the science centre phaeno in Wolfsburg, Germany. In intervals of half an hour, the four beds of reeds surrounded by seating areas that reach out of the minimalistic, grey square are enveloped in manmade, water-based fog – we do not rely on artificial, chemical fog. The environs are thereby turned into climatic microcosms of their own: the temperatures go down and humidity-levels rise.
During November and December, the Effektschmiede joined the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's North America tour, operating two 3MTC Tesla Coils which were synchronised to the Orchestra's hard rock jingles. Night after night, the coils and the lights created stunning optics on stage.
Recently we were visited by Noah Levi, together with the production crew of Jive Germany, to film the music video for his new song ‘Sonne oder Regen’. The Effektschmiede Team pulled out all the stops and took charge of lighting, set design, and the production of rain, fog and lightning effects. Noah’s music video dropped on Friday the 19th of July and today we’re sharing our very own making-of video. Noah Levi – Sonne oder Regen Special thanks go to Nicolas Vargas for his great help with the making-of video.
In February 2019 we were contracted to design, develop and fabricate interactives for Skaperhagen (Creative Garden) gallery at Vilvite Science Center in Bergen, Norway. Skaperhagen invites to take on creative challenges of invention and building using a variety of materials. Working alone or in teams, visitors envision technological solutions and create them from the different odds and ends provided. It is a place to think, experiment and above all, have fun. In Skaperhagen there is no such thing as a bad idea. The new interactive exhibits are on show since June 2019.
End of 2008, we were contracted to design and build initial exhibitry for experimenta, which opened a year later in Heilbronn, Germany. In Dezember 2015 we were then entrusted with the conceptual design and development of ForscherLand (Researcher‘s Land) for the modernised experimenta, working closely with the client‘s project team and project partners. This contract was followed by the order to also design and fabricate this gallery.
