NorthernLight has designed a unique kaleidoscopic experience for the Horticultural Expo in Beijing (April-October 2019). The installation – part of the Dutch government’s official presentation – provides a spectacular sneak preview of what visitors can expect during the Floriade Expo 2022 in Almere, the Netherlands.
Green sustainable cities
What exactly does the ‘Green City of the Future’ look like? It’s a question that’s being asked around the world – and one that the Floriade Expo 2022 wants to answer. Niek Roozen, landscape architect for the Floriade Expo 2022, responds to the issue with Holland Garden, the Dutch entry for the Beijing Expo 2019 commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Instagrammable highlight
NorthernLight’s extraordinary kaleidoscopic experience forms part of Holland Garden. Moving images afford a glimpse of what will be Floriade Expo 2022’s splendid sustainable city of the future. A world of mirrors and reflective surfaces creates the Dutch pavilion’s Instagrammable highlight while drawing visitors into the topic. Special QR code-enriched graphics enable Chinese visitors to directly access information about Floriade 2022, and to plan their trip to the Expo in Europe.
