The Middle Ages are often referred to as a dark and gloomy era. Unfairly so. Therefore Museon believes it is time to take a new, refreshing look at this period. With this exhibition, Museon seeks to put the Middle Ages in a new perspective. Seven characters looking quite familiar, each with a contemporary look, invite you to experience what life looked like a 1000 years ago.
NNT 2018, the 17th International Conference on Nanoimprint and Nanoprint Technologies, the world’s leading symposium on nanoimprint and nanoprint, will take place September 18-20, 2018, at INL, the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory.
NNT 2018 will focus the contributed part of the program in three main domains:
1) Stamps, materials and processes for nanofabrication,
2) Industrial processes and applications, and
3) Emerging technologies and applications.

Robots – then and now, developed by the Science Museum in London, tells the 500-year, work in progress story of building automated machines, from the humble beginnings of 16th century mechanical automatons to the latest humanoids – and everything in between.

We are pleased to announce that the International Science Summer Camp 2018 (ISSC) will be held from August 5 to August 11, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The programme will discover science around a topic Artificial Intelligence and provide an ideal platform for young people interested in science and technology to learn about different cultures and ideas while linking scientific theory with a practical approach. Furthermore, participants will be able to improve their presentation and communication skills.
The PSC is organizing its science festivity for the twelve’s year, under the overarching theme of “Marine Life” The PSC has implemented its first Science Festivity in 2007, and it has developed and expanded to be one of the highlights scientific annual events in Alexandria governorate, aiming to further expand geographically to be a national event for all Egyptians. The Planetarium Science Center (PSC) at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in collaboration with Intel Egypt is organizing the seventh affiliate competition, Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair Egypt (Intel BASEF Egypt 2018) in all Egypt. The competition will empower Egyptian students ages 14 -18 to conduct a research and present their projects findings under 19 science and humanities themes. To enhance the quality of projects and expand geographically, the PSC is collaborating with the Ministry of Education to reach all governorates.

In November 2016 we were awarded the contract to design, develop and fabricate 78 interactive exhibits for multiple galleries at the Natural History Museum and the Science & Technology Museum of the newly build Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre (ASCCKW) in Kuwait City.
The development of Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre involved coordination between 96 contractors from 13 countries around the world and the centre‘s opening to the public took place in March 2018.

In Spring 2017 we were contracted to develop, design and build hands-on exhibits for the Da Vinci Workshop at Discovery Museum Acton. Within twelve galleries there are intimate, immersive experiences for the youngest learners and new galleries of STEAM experiences for all ages. All exhibits are hands-on, low-tech, open-ended, and interactive, to encourage play and exploration.

In September 2017 we were contracted to develop, design and fabricate hands-on exhibits for the new I Wonder gallery at Terengganu Science & Creativity Centre, Malaysia. Since opening of I Wonder end of January 2018 the new exhibits are in use.

NorthernLight has been responsible for the concept, spatial design, visual design and project management of the new attraction of the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam, the ‘Brew You Ride’. This audiovisual journey is an experience in five steps; it feels like going on an exciting journey with friends, from the Heineken brewing and bottling process, to enjoying your beer all around the world.
NorthernLight has been responsible for the concept, design and creative direction of the interior, identity and Virtual Reality experience of the spectacular VR time trip ‘Dare to Discover’, which will open at the National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam this December. The VR can be seen on board of the VOC ship ‘Amsterdam’ and takes you back to the Golden Age.
In August 2017 we were contracted to design and build interactives for KIDS AT WORK in Hamburg, which was officially opened to the public on January 20, 2018.
KIDS AT WORK is a stimulating, hands-on learning experience for children that inspires imagination, curiosity, creativity and the love of learning through play, while at the same time providing a relaxing environment for their guardians.

The new travelling exhibition “Knights and Castles”, designed by NorthernLight, takes a new and refreshing look at the Middle Ages. As the exhibition will travel through Europe, it symbolically links the life of people in today’s Europe to their shared medieval history. The exhibition has been commissioned by Museon, LVR Landesmuseum Bonn and Valkhof Museum. Museon is the first museum to host the exhibition, in the autumn of 2017.
In November 2016 we were contracted to design, develop and fabricate two-thirds of the new interactive exhibits for the TŪHURA Otago Community Trust Science Centre, the redevelopment of Otago Museum’s former Discovery World Tropical Forest.
TŪHURA also encompasses the digitally interactive Beautiful Science Gallery, the Perpetual Guardian Planetarium and the refreshed Tropical Forest butterfly house.
TŪHURA inspires curiosity and encourages the next generation of young New Zealanders to take an interest in the world around them, since its opening in December 2017.
