EXTRA, the marketplace for scientific touring exhibitions.
We usually don't focus on what we can't see, so the exhibition reminds us that life also goes on in micron dimensions. Although it is not visible to the naked eye, it is important not only for various ecosystems, but for all the Earth's inhabitants at all scales.
The role of the pollen grain is to cause the plant to bear fruit. We do not realize how complicated and full of pitfalls leads to this path. We want to show it explaining what pollen is and what it looks like in a close approximation.
"Mysteries of pollen" is the world's first exhibition showing pollen shapes on SEM imagesand in the form of three-dimensional models. The exhibition affects almost all senses: photographs and descriptions are presented, 3D models of pollen can be touched, smelled and viewed. The exhibition is accompanied by a soundscape created of unusual sounds of nature.
By visiting the exhibition you will learn:
• What are the differences between flowers?
• How many pollen grains is a flower capable of producing?
• What shapes do pollen have?
• Do insects use plants, or do plants manipulate insects?
• Do plants create strategies to extend the species?
And so much more…
