By using their imagination and creativity, the visitors of 1-to-Make create different outcomes for each experiment. Use the laws of physics to overcome frictional forces, to build a structure that stands the vibration test or to lead light into the desired direction. Not only ‘hard science’ gets a chance, however. Art-lovers can design a stunning mosaic, generate a mind-blowing piece of classical music or use word blocks to put together a poem. He who likes things to get spooky, becomes the mastermind behind a haunted mansion and wakes up the dead when the clock strikes twelve …

Technopolis®, the Flemish Science Centre, developed this interactive, open end exhibition which is being shaped by its visitors. The exhibition is for everyone from 8 years and up.

Some examples of exhibits:

Build a rollercoaster
Put the different parts against the magnetic wall.
Can you guide the ball safely through a loop?

DJ at work
Go and sit behind the mixing console and start mixing your own song.
Not every shadow is the same

Round or square?
It depends on the way you look at it: an object’s shadow changes with the incidence of light.

Make your own animation
Use the stop motion technique to create your own animated film.

Technopolis endeavours to fascinate everyone with science and technology no matter who or where they are. Up until recently, Technopolis was best known for its popular science centre in Mechelen, which is frequented by especially young families and schools.
