In our search for the best partnerships we collaborate with a broad group of industries, foundations, educational institutions and many more. In this session we share our experiences of partnerships between science centres and companies.
We will look into questions such as: Do you need to remain ‘neutral’ in a partnership with a company? Why do we want this kind of partnership? What could be the ideal partnership? We will be hearing the two sides of the argument, as our speakers include both industry and science centre representatives.
After short presentations there will be time for sharing expertise, learning from each other and brainstorming about what does work when partnering up.

Since 2014 Science Center NEMO has started on a five year partnership with Google. After one and a half years we look back as well as to the future. What lessons have we learned? What is the added value of working together with a big company such as Google? What are our concerns? And what challenges do we still have to overcome?

What fundamental questions are necessary to ask when working closely with companies? How and do we approach ethical concerns? Copernicus has already experience in setting up membership programmes and looking at the best strategies to keep donors loyal and at the same time capture those generous corporate partners. This session will explore this further and share lessons learned and challenges to overcome together with a representative from Samsung who is one of our sponsors.

Experimentarium has received crucial funding from both companies and foundations to rebuild the science center and to produce new exhibitions and learning initiatives. Which important issues is it necessary to focus on in order to create a win-win situation, where both the science center and the foundation or company reach their goals?
