This session is about the specific challenges of communicating “big science” of the large-scale research infrastructures. It will include aspects like public understanding and acceptance as well as the challenges of talking about cutting-edge science. Looking at outreach and communication activities of research infrastructures, the panellists will also discuss how science centres and museums can be partners in that work. The members of the panel represent some of the most well-known research facilities in the world, including CERN and ITER, as well as science and visitors centres. The audience is most welcome to participate in the discussion.
