Gdynia's Experyment Science Centre, a hub for science engagement, will host the two-day #Curiosity conference, a dynamic event designed to amplify young people's voices and promote educational innovation. The conference will begin on 9 April 2025 with a focus on students, followed by a session for teachers on 10 April.
In line with Experyment's mission of science engagement, the #Curiosity conference aims to provide a platform for young people to express their motivations, engage in open dialogue and gain practical knowledge. It's about inspiring curiosity, building engagement and developing interest, agency and empowerment. The conference also serves as a meeting point for students from different schools in Gdynia, encouraging the development of passion, knowledge sharing and practical learning. A core principle of the event is youth participation, with students actively involved in the design and delivery of the programme.
Participants can expect to develop key skills such as communication, teamwork and creative problem solving. The conference also aims to empower students, promote networking between schools, organisations and city institutions, and provide a platform for sharing best practice. Ultimately, it aims to inspire curiosity and help students explore opportunities for personal and educational growth.
The conference programme includes keynote speeches and a variety of workshops and debates. These sessions cover topics as diverse as volunteering, game design, career development, research, creative writing and student government.
The second day of the conference will focus on teachers and educators, looking at ways to encourage student curiosity, integrate modern technologies and create effective learning environments. Discussions will include inquiry-based learning, the use of AI and augmented reality, communication techniques and strategies for motivating students. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, workshops and networking, with the aim of providing tools and inspiration to improve educational practice.
The #Curiosity conference is a collaborative effort between various institutions and organisations including the Experyment Science Centre, Gdynia City Hall, SWPS University, University of Gdańsk, Digital University Foundation, PROJEKTOR, Sirius Game Studio and others. This wide range of affiliations underlines the conference's commitment to providing a comprehensive and enriching experience for all attendees.
