Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre, is a lively hands-on exhibition and activity centre for people of all ages and among Finland’s most popular leisure time destinations. Heureka opened to the public on April 28, 1989 and attracts nowadays on the average 300 000 visitors a year. Heureka has several interactive exhibitions and a planetarium. Total exhibition space indoors amounts to 3500 square meters. During summer season an outdoor exhibition area, Science Park Galilei, is available. Heureka is open around the year and it operates fully in three languages: Finnish, Swedish and English. Heureka is located in the Helsinki metropolitan area, in the city of Vantaa next to Tikkurila train station and near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.
The Heureka Science Centre is a nonprofit organization. Its activities are managed by the Finnish Science Centre Foundation. The Finnish Science Centre Foundation is a broadly based co-operation organisation that includes the Finnish scientific community, education sector, trade and industry, and national and local government.
Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre has several years of experience in building exhibitions that are designed to tour. Since 2003, Heureka Overseas Productions Ltd has been responsible for the rentals and sales of travelling exhibitions.
