No going back to normal - Part 1

Despite all the transformation of our society over the past century little has changed in the education system since the 19th century. The pandemic has just put more pressure on an unfit education system: a divide between rich and poor, lack of resources, an inward-looking perspective and little flexibility to innovate. It has also pushed parents to take a more active role in their children’s education reshaping the teacher-parent relationship, but is it for the best?

This crisis may be the opportunity we were looking for not to go back to this old model that we believe no longer works. New approaches being tested by a number of Open schooling pilots present very promising results of what could schools in the future look like and we would like to explore these ideas further.

This two-part session aims at digging into the challenges formal education is facing, understanding what problems its main actors face, better understanding what the urgencies are and explore and discussing together possible leads to find new solutions. Make sure to join us for Part 2!
