“The ISS: Living and Working in Space” Kit

  • March 2017
  • Topics in science
  • Material for workshops and exhibitions

The International Space Station is the world’s largest-ever scientific venture, and the European Space Agency is a key member of this international partnership. Since 2001, ESA astronauts have been flying to the station to carry out essential assembly and maintenance tasks, as well as scientific research. Astronauts’ daily life in this extraordinary environment is a topic that can capture the imagination of diverse audiences and encourage them to engage with the science and work carried out on board the ISS.

The Ecsite Space Group, with the support of Cité de l’Éspace (Toulouse, France), the Tycho Brahe Planetarium (Copenhagen, Denmark), and the European Space Agency, has developed a toolkit that allows you to explore this extraordinary living and working enviroment:

  • A ready-to-print exhibition about the ISS
    • Available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese (translated by Ciência Viva – Pavilion of Knowledge) and German (translated by the Swiss Space Museum)
  • Two hands-on educational activities about spaceflight
  • ESA image and exhibition panels
