The Ecsite Space Group members met again online on the 18th, 22nd and 23rd June. In the pick moment we were 37 participants around the globe. The participants got the chance to catch up informally, share their projects and hear about the current and upcoming activities of the European Space Agency.
The Space Talks online series took place on the 27th November, 1-2 December 2020 and were attended by 39 participants. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with Ecsite Space Group members and welcome some new participants despite the physical distance imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. It consisted of informal networking, projects showcase and news sharing session on some very exciting current and upcoming activities from the European Space Agency. It was an inspiring experience providing a good opportunity to reflect and connect.

The International Space Station is the world’s largest-ever scientific venture, and the European Space Agency is a key member of this international partnership. The Ecsite Space Group has developed a ready-to-print exhibition and several hands-on activities that seek to engage children and adults alike with the daily life and work of ESA astronauts on board the Space Station. The exciting Rosetta mission gave many science centres and museums the opportunity to get involved in synchronized international events, to show live science, and to feel the excitement and tension of live operations!
In 2016 the Ecsite Space Group prepared an update with the latest achievements of the mission and provided ready to use tools such as general scripts for each event with suggestions of activities.
The Space Group Annual Meeting 2015 took place in Milan, Italy on 3-4 November 2015 and was hosted by the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci. Read the report of the meeting, which summarised discussions during the two days workshop and presents next steps in the collaboration between ESA and Ecsite.
After a successful cooperation of the Ecsite Space Group and ESA in development of the Rosetta Kit about the Rosetta mission in 2013-2015, the collaboration will continue and new projects will be developed on three themes. Ecsite conducted the feasibility study in August-September 2015 with the goal to assess the relevance of each theme and readiness to implement and use the outcomes of the projects among the Ecsite members.
What are comets? Where do they come from? Why should we care about them? The exhibition “Comets & ESA’s Rosetta” invites the audience to take part in the incredible journey of Rosetta and to better understand its mission. Through simple and modular displays, visitors discover what we already know about comets and how a deeper knowledge of them could lead to major discoveries about the origins of the solar system and our origins.
In this report we would like to share the results of the Pre-Conference Workshop "Space for Life", that took place during the Ecsite Annual Conference 2015 hosted in MUSE (Trento, Italy) organised by the Ecsite Space Group and the European Space Agency (ESA).
