EXTRA, the marketplace for scientific touring exhibitions.
Calling all inventors, explorers, thinkers and those who thirst for knowledge!
What whooshes through the skies?
What floats on the water?
What drives on the street?
What flies to the moon?
What runs on rails?
And: How do we move on foot?
Here, ideas are sought that spark your imagination not only when it comes to reinventing the wheel!
Always in motion – the chair concept
Chairs with four wheels on their legs are the mobile element of the exhibition. The chairs themselves stand for the learning aspect of the exhibit; the wheels are a symbol of motion. In combination, these vehicles are a perfect means of transportation to keep body and soul fit, encourage creativity and to experience ExpresScience in motion. At the same time, those chairs also point out that we almost always sit when we move. The more mobile we are, the more immobile we become.
Pause for a moment and ask questions – stopping points and the sociological aspects of mobility
Besides the Work Shop Labs and the natural science approach, the exhibition also offers the opportunity to pause for a moment and think about the numerous themes of mobility. Here, topics are covered that generally apply to all kinds of means of transportation, such as speed or traffic safety.
Six Work Shop Labs to invent and explore – natural sciences and mobility
To spark the interest to explore and invent, children and young people are introduced to the laws of nature with simple experiments and are challenged with tangible problems to think, invent and try out. The experiments are designed in a way to inspired children to be active participants and discover for themselves what impact their individual small actions have. Trial and error lead them along the path of discovery to their goal. An emphasis is also placed on experimenting and building. The cycle of experimenting, observing, measuring and documenting are recorded in the research diary.
