The “Open Science Resources” summer school aims to offer to teachers from all over Europe the chance to get acquainted with open educational resources repositories and be trained to use existing materials and relevant tools so as to design top quality educational activities that may be easily retrievable and available at anytime from anywhere.

The OSR Portal is the winner of the Award for Learning Contexts of the OPAL Awards 2011 for Quality and Innovation Through Open Educational Practices. The prize has been awarded during the 2011 edition of the Online Educa Conference which was held recently in Berlin (www.online-educa.com/, 30 November – 2 December). Eleftheria Tsourlidaki from Elinogermaniki Agogi, Greece. as well as Marzia Mazzonetto, Projects Coordinator at Ecsite, and Claudio Dondi from the Menon Network (both based in Belgium) proudly collected the prize.
ENGINEER will support the widespread adoption in Europe of innovative methods of science teaching and provide extensive teacher training on inquiry-based methods.

In collaboration with Ecsite and ASTC, the Noyce Leadership Institute is actively seeking participants for the 2012–2013 Fellowship. Potential applicants are invited to participate in an audio conference which provides an overview of the program on November 16 2011 at 18:00 CET.
Established by UNESCO in 2001, the WSDPD is celebrated on 10 November each year. The Day is an occasion to remind the UNESCO’s mandate and commitment on science.
Ecsite members who are in possession of a PIC number to participate in the NANOPINION project as Ecsite Third Parties. The deadline for submitting an application is Friday November 11th 2011.
Please note that in order to be eligible to become Ecsite Third Party, you must have paid the 2011 Ecsite membership fee.
NANOPINION is a 30-month FP7 project set to begin in early 2012 and currently in the final stages of negotiation.
