Open Science Resources project wins Opal Award for Learning Contexts

Open Science Resources has been selected by an international jury as winner of the 2011 Open Educational Quality (OPAL) Awards for Learning Contexts. The “Open Educational Quality Initiative” is an international network to promote innovation and improved quality in education and training through the use of open educational resources. OPAL has been established through international organisations including UNESCO, ICDE and EFQUEL in order to establish a forum which works to build greater trust in using and promoting open educational resources. The project is part funded by the European Commission Education and Training Lifelong Learning Programme (http://ec.europa.eu/education/lifelong-learning-programme/doc78_en.htm).

Open Science Resources

Open Science Resources (OSR) was a collaborative project co-funded by the European Commission under the eContentplus programme. It aimed to create a shared repository of scientific digital objects - currently dispersed in European science museums and science centres - to make them more widely and coherently available, searchable and usable in the context of formal and informal learning situations.
