Programme for Week 1
Keynote speakers in Week 1 will represent both astronomy and the space and technology sector. Dr Kelly Blumenthal (Leiden University and the International Astronomical Union) will discuss strategic public engagement, and Dr Gaitee Hussein will discuss the European Space Agency’s upcoming missions and approaches to communicating cutting-edge space and technology research.
ASDC is recruiting a new CEO to lead the organisation. Deadline is 3 December.

Research ethics and integrity is vital in research but how do we ensure research ethics and integrity is seen as the foundation of excellence in research and innovation? And further to this, how do we ensure it is brought to the forefront of technology innovation to build public trust in future research outputs?
How can we best support young learners for tomorrow? How do we ensure they have the opportunity to tailor their own learning journey? What role can science centres have in supporting schools to provide such skills? The European project “Make it Open”, which we are a part of, wants to show you how we can begin to answer such questions through their approach to “open schooling”.
