Ecsite is the European network of science centres and museums. We represent more than 300 organisations across Europe and the world, active in what we call ‘science engagement:’ communicating scientific topics and skills to the public and facilitating democratic dialogue between science and society. Our friendly, cosmopolitan Brussels office is looking for an events intern whose missions will include attending our flagship Conference in June.
Through this internship you will gain experience in the organisation and administration of a creative international event that brings together over 1,000 participants from more than 50 countries.
Profile
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Attentive to details, meticulous and very well-organised
- Good knowledge in administration of events
- Ability to work independently, ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Can-do attitude, flexible, team player, resourceful and service-oriented
- Tech-savvy, strong skills in computer, event management tools and platforms
- Current enrolment for a higher education course allowing internships, preferably master’s degree
- Knowledge in finance (accounting) is a plus
Tasks
80% of the internship will be related to the registration of the 300+ speakers and 1000+ participants, and 20% will be related to event logistics.
Registration and communication
- Assist with event registrations, event software, and other event duties, including follow-up of basic accounting tasks (invoices, credit notes, … )
- Answering enquiries and special needs from participants
- Liaising with speakers and special guests
Logistics
- Preparation and organisation of the logistics of special areas and / or moments of the event…
- Providing support with management of event arrangement in general
