Museums form an important part of the cultural heritage of all European countries. As institutions, however, they have remained focused on the nation state for historical, political and often for financial reasons. However, many of the issues museums face today transcend national boundaries.
The theme this year is the Visitor Experience and the vital role it plays in building and retaining audiences.

The votes are in: Robert Firmhofer, director of Copernicus Science Centre, has been elected the new President of Ecsite. Full Ecsite Members made their decision at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place on day two of the Ecsite Annual Conference 2011 in Warsaw, Poland.
