The theme of this year's ISSM is the role of the Science Museums & Science centres as platforms for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. ISSM 2020 will be a symposium to share various practice cases and to discuss ideas related to SDGs. Deadline for submissions is 30 March.
On 27-28 January 2020, ESA/ESRIN welcomed 46 participants representing science engagement organisations from 11 different countries, the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency. They gathered in Frascati, Rome for the two-day Annual Meeting of the Ecsite Space Group.
Highlights of the first day of the workshop included keynote addresses on ESA's next missions and milestones, and communication strategy and planning. Participants also visited the interactive Phi experience and discussed Earth Observation in the context of the climate change crisis.
Ecsite is inviting all its members to reflect on the future of the science engagement to build its new strategy. Have your say by taking part in one of the virtual (online) design workshops organised in March and April.

The internet and social media have challenged Science Communication while creating opportunities to develop new practices. Digital media have blurred the distinction between consumers and producers of science content and have bypassed the traditonal gatekeepers of information and given access to a range of sources that were not directly available before. The research that we present here explore the diversity of actors and contents in seven European countries by analysing three case studies: artificial intelligence, climate change and healthy diets.
