Several important events are taking place in Toulouse during the same timeframe as the Ecsite Annual Conference (31 May – 2 June 2012).

Science centres and museums call for UN partnership to bolster public engagement for sustainability
29 March, 2012, LONDON, UK – First Lady of Austria, Margit Fischer, will make the case for a science centre and museum partnership with the United Nations at the Planet Under Pressure (PuP) conference, 29 March, 10:15 am, in London, UK.
A new edition of the “Pilots Training Course for Museum Explainers, Educators and Young Scientists involved in outreach programmes” is coming in Lisbon in September 2012!
The Abu Dhabi Science Festival opened its doors for the first time in November 2011 expecting approximately 80,000 visitors; over the nine day event over 120,000 visitors were welcomed to the 8,500sqm exhibition at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre and the open event at the Abu Dhabi Corniche to experience over 150 science and technology events.
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Noyce Foundation, in collaboration with the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC) and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), today announced the participants in a fifth round of yearlong sponsored fellowships, as well as plans to recruit more leaders in the following year, with the aim of increasing the public impact of science centers, museums, and related institutions. The Noyce Leadership Institute (NLI) brings together leaders in informal science education from around the world to act as change agents at the crossroads of societal trends, global issues, and the cutting edge of science.
