The Abu Dhabi Science Festival opened its doors for the first time in November 2011 expecting approximately 80,000 visitors; over the nine day event over 120,000 visitors were welcomed to the 8,500sqm exhibition at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre and the open event at the Abu Dhabi Corniche to experience over 150 science and technology events. The main objectives of the ADSF are to engage the youth in informal STI learning and promote the importance of STI to Abu Dhabi’s population. The core target audience are Abu Dhabi’s youth between 5 to 15 years (school grades 1 to 9), with particular focus on nationals. Secondary targets are key enablers and influencers to the primary target namely their teachers, parents and siblings.
To build on the success of the inaugural event ADSF is looking to identify an Informal Science Educator with the experience and passion to lead the festival and drive its growth and development.
The Abu Dhabi Science Festival is a strategic government initiative designed to develop a sustainable knowledge based economy as part of Abu Dhabi’s 2030 plan.
