Science centre on a shoestring: Outreach live

Picture the scene: In 15 minutes, our speakers set up a pop-up science centre in a local cafe, armed with only the items they have in their pockets and backpacks!

The introduction will begin at the conference centre and then participants walk to the cafe together. Session participants can each choose some refreshments and explore the pop-up exhibits. All participants are encouraged to bring their ideas and basic equipment (but no digital presentation tools). Bar bets will also be appreciated. Each speaker will then have 3,14 minutes during the session to present their outreach program/project/unit to the rest of the group.

Cheers. Welcome to the pop-up science center bar, where you will amuse and «get drunk» without drinking but visiting a hands-mind-body on exhibition on natural phenomena by experimenting with beer bottlles, balloons, coffee cups, forks and spoons and…yourself

Will probably bring some stuff, if the stuff isn't broken. If it is, I will try to fix it with duct tape and/or hot glue. If it remains broken, there's always some other stuff I could bring.

I always bring too much stuff, so I will try to leave something at home. But I always forget stuff as well, so will probably also make something out of paperclips and empty toilet roles.
