In recent years the Maker movement introduced many cultural innovations in museums and science centres. Among these the so-called "culture of repair", which is not only of great benefit in terms of education, promoting the understanding of "how" an object or technology "works"; but also because it reminds people, and especially young people living in our throw-away society, of the importance of critical approach to consumption respecting the environment and its limits.
This panel will introduce different cases of science centres and museums developing activities based on the "culture of repair" in their MakerSpace, exhibitions or programmes.
