Challenging stereotypes and encouraging girls to pursue scientific careers are important parts of the work of science centres and museums. But how can we do this if we are biased ourselves? Join speakers from the ecsite members’ project ‘TWIST’ Towards Women in Science and Technology in discussing why we need to consider gender in all aspects of our work.

We will share practical ideas and tried-and-tested approaches that can help staff to check for gender balance in the design of exhibits and events. We will also describe a series of programmes designed to encourage debate and dialogue around gender-related issues for teenage and adult audiences.
