Art/Science experiences reimagined and remixed - Part 1

In this hands-on workshop, developers, educators and artists will share ways that they have remixed and adapted art/science-themed experiences and interactive temporal exhibitions and galleries during the pandemic period. We’ll focus on the addition of virtual tinkering workshops, digital extensions and interactive online sessions with schools and community partners.

We’ll look in depth at examples from Cabaret Mechanical Theatre and IMAGINARY to learn about the ways that different organisations managed the unsettling pandemic period, such as digital tinkering workshops, online events and interactive theatre elements.

We'll then split into two groups and participants will get to try a hands-on experience with activities from one of the presenters. To make sure you don’t miss out, we’ll switch groups for Part 2, so make sure you attend both parts of this session.

For the hands-on activity, please collect:

  • 3x paper clips
  • 2x paper straws
  • scrap cardboard
  • masking tape
  • scissors
  • a selection of photos from magazines
  • round nose pliers
  • wire snippers
