the Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair’ Closing Ceremony took place on Monday 12 March 2012, at the Bibliotheca Conferences Center, where winners’ names were announced, and various awards were given to the winning projects. There were Special Awards, Category Awards, and the Grand Awards which were given to the three winning projects that will represent Egypt at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, USA, and are as follows: -1st Place award went to Moataz Ahmed Abd El-Ghafar, for his project entitled “Follow Mau’s paws”. - 2nd Place award went to Osama Ahmed, Magdi Mamdouh and Esraa Saleh, for their project entitled “How to improve the efficiency of p-n junction silicon based solar cells using a nano material as a dopant”. - 3rd Place award went to Clara Halim Zakhary and Ola Ezzat, for their project entitled “How to Detect Corrosion”. The Ceremony started with words of gratitude by the Planetarium Science Center’ director, Engineer Hoda Elmikaty, and the head of the judges committee, Doctor Boshra Samy, and included a movie about the participants path throughout their projects, then ended by all the winners announcement. It was attended by a croud of school students, parents and teachers, and private public entities. The PSC congratulates its students, the whole 80 projects that participated in the fair; they are all winners, and wishes the best of luck to the three projects nominated to join the Intel ISEF, next May.
