Universcience launches a call to invite teams of two science facilitators from European science centres to provide workshops or shows at La Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris for the annual “Fête de la science” (science festival) which will take place on 6-8 October 2023 on the theme of “Sport & Science”.

Organised by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Science Festival is a popular national event that promotes science engagement, fosters fruitful knowledge exchange between researchers and citizens and encourages young people to pursue scientific careers. The “Fête de la science” is the major public event for our two science centres (Cité des sciences et de l’industrie & Etincelles du Palais de la découverte) in our annual program, with engaging and entertaining activities. Each year, the event attracts over 60,000 visitors across the 3 days. The first day will be dedicated to school children, whereas the weekend will welcome the general public. The event is free of charge.

On the road to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic games of Paris, Universcience will explore the links between sport and science, with a doorway to Europe and European research. Universcience teams will be delighted to welcome science facilitators from your science centre, to offer activities, workshops or shows.

Science facilitators will be able to address the audience in their native language + French or English. All the activities will be held at La Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris.

If you are interested, we would appreciate knowing it by May 15, 2023. It would allow us to coordinate the working arrangements and financial support provided by Universcience (travel, nights, lunch).
