BioInspiration exhibition opens in Vienna

BioInspiration opens in Vienna and is the result of the alliance between the Parque de las Ciencias of Granada (Andalusia, Spain), DASA (Dortmund, Germany) and the Technisches Museum of Vienna (Austria) which continues its course with the opening of ‘BioInspiration’, produced by the museum of Granada.

From Velcro to space exploration, from architecture to transport and medicine, more than 50 practical examples and 200 objects illustrate the astonishing technical innovations resulting from biomimicry, a field in full expansion, a joyful encounter between biology and engineering. With 800 m2 and an original exhibition design, it features numerous unique pieces from the USA, Japan, Australia and Europe, as well as models, large photographs, microscopes, videos and various hands-on experiences. But above all, the exhibition is an invitation to visitors to discover for themselves the present and the future of this form of innovation by learning from the observation of living beings.

In the words of directors of Technisches Museum and Parque de las Ciencia, Peter Aufreiter and Luis Alcala, the exhibition is an example of European cooperation and a way to improve the sustainability of extensive exhibition projects.

The project goes on with the exchange of the exhibitions on ‘Artificial Intelligence’, which will be opened in Granada in November, developed by DASA, and ‘FoodPrints’, produced by Technisches Museum, and currently on display in DASA.
