We have a new Ecsite Board

Ecsite’s Annual General Meeting took place today in Copenhagen, Denmark. Among others, the meeting the re-election of Ecsite President Herbert Münder and the election or re-election of eight Trustees. Congratulations!

A second mandate for Herbert Münder

Herbert Münder, General Manager of Universum Bremen (Germany) was elected for a second mandate. He set out priorities for the next two years: continuing Ecsite’s advocacy efforts at EU level, developing Ecsite’s next strategic plan, and strengthening collaboration with other sister networks around the world, among others.

Herbert Münder also invited Ecsite members to sign an open letter addressed to EU Commissioner for Research and Innovation Carlos Moedas, putting forward recommendations for the involvement of citizens in the upcoming Horizon Europe funding framework.

Changes in the Executive Committee

Marjolein van Breemen, Deputy Director, took over from Michiel Buchel as the representative of the NEMO Science Museum (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) on the Ecsite Board. As the Past President, Michiel was part of the Executive Committee, where he is being replaced by Bruno Maquart, Chairman and CEO of Universcience (Paris, France) as Acting Past President. Welcome to Marjolein and deep thanks to Michiel, who served as Ecsite's Treasurer before a two year President’s mandate in 2015-17 and had been filling the Past President’s role since.
