The FHNW Institute for Data Science investigates and develops methods to generate new insights and knowledge out of data. We are committed to sharing our research with the public, in particular in the case of publicly funded projects using or generating publicly owned data.
A part of our research concerns space sciences, where many great resources are available to everyone, while few people are aware of them. We develop tools to facilitate access, offer workshops and Science Cafés and create exhibits. We aim at challenging and expanding notions of the Universe and its nearly inconceivable phenomena using a variety of technologies, both analogue and digital ones.
We are interested in new ways of involving the public in data science and open to co-operate with other organizations engaged in this endeavour.
