In April 2014 we were contracted with the development, fabrication and installation of interactive exhibits and an indoor water exhibit for the Octopus Center within newly built Vanke Pie Shopping Mall in Guangzhou. The 2,000 sqm children‘s facility was designed by Blue Rhino Design and was inaugurated in the course of the grand opening of Vanke Pie Shopping Mall on December 25, 2015.

The newly built Vanke Pie Center is a commercial mixed use project located in the Haizhu district of Guangzhou. It is designed as an open street type shopping arcade which connects the adjacent metro station to the old city area to the west.

Octopus Science Center works as a pilot project to test a new generation of entertainment and science centers in China. Natural Sciences, Modern Technology and parent-child interaction are the three main aims of Octopus and are presented in seven major exhibition areas covering a total floor space of 2,000 sqm. Children up to 16 years of age are invited to explore Robotics, Virtual Reality, The World and I, a Media Lab, an indoor water-play, role playing, a construction area and more than a dozen other interactive experiences.
