With great sorrow we learned that Sally Duensing passed away on Thursday 29 October. You can leave your message on the dedicated memorial page.
Her friend Andrea Bandelli pays tribute to her:
"Sally was a legendary person in our field. She played a fundamental role at the Exploratorium in San Francisco since its inception. Throughout all her career, she created unique connections between academic research and public engagement, thanks to her positive personality, sharp intelligence and profound respect for everybody.
Sally was well known within Ecsite. She was a member of the Annual Conference Program Committee for several years, and a member of the steering committee of THE group. Sally was a regular presence at the Ecsite conference since the first edition, and she organised countless sessions, workshops and training events. Several Ecsite projects have benefitted from her research and evaluation skills.
But above all, Sally will always be remembered for her wonderful personality and for being everybody’s friend. Her optimism and curiosity left no one who met her untouched. Sally changed the lives of many people, and she will be deeply missed."
