April is an exciting month here, as we can announce that Trinity College Dublin has appointed Lynn Scarff as the new Director of Science Gallery Dublin.
Taking over from our Founding Director, Michael John Gorman, Lynn has played a major role in our success since the inception of Science Gallery Dublin eight years ago.
Coming from a background in the environmental and not-for-profit sectors, Lynn has worked with a number of organisations in the development of unique informal learning programmes in a variety of spaces, from museums and national parks to TV and radio. Beginning her role in Science Gallery in 2008 as the Education and Outreach Manager, she spearheaded the development of some of Science Gallery’s most successful exhibition formats and education programmes. An international leader in the field of art-science and public engagement with science, she comes with a deep appreciation of the interplay of science and the arts in public engagement, and a strong creative vision for Science Gallery Dublin.
This announcement wouldn’t be complete without taking a moment to acknowledge all Michael John Gorman has done for both Science Gallery Dublin and Science Gallery International. With over two million visitors to Science Gallery Dublin over the past eight years, Michael John is a visionary founding force, and has made a vast contribution to the art-science field, and to public engagement with science. We wish him the greatest success with his new role in Munich.
We’re confident that under Lynn's leadership, Science Gallery Dublin will continue to create transformative experiences for young adults that link science, technology, engineering, art, design and mathematics. We’re excited for our future adventures working on exhibitions, events, and education programmes together. All the best Lynn, from everyone here at Science Gallery Dublin!
