The National Space Centre is looking to recruit a Public Programmes Team Leader for their Space Communications team. This person will lead, develop, and present public programmes activities and space news to the National Space Centre’s public visitors.
It's a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced science communicator who would like to develop new ways of engaging with the Centre's public visitors and to lead a team of Science Interpreters. Science Interpreters deliver live public programmes activities for families, groups, and adult visitors daily, especially on weekends and during school holidays.
The applicant should have a wide-ranging knowledge of space science and space history, and experience in science outreach or science communication, as well as excellent communications skills (including confidence when presenting to a live audience), the ability to lead and coordinate a team of presenters, and exceptional organisational skills. A degree in physics or astronomy is desirable.
To apply you must complete the application form until the closing date on 12 noon Wednesday 14 June 2017 and interviews, for short-listed candidates, will be held on Thursday 29th June 2017 at the National Space Centre.
