on Saturday 25th February 2012, 169 projects competed in 15 different science categories at the Intel Bibliotheca Alexandrina Science and Engineering Fair’ screening round, held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conferences Center, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. The day was divided into two heats, where each heat included about 85 projects, that were judged by members of the judging committee, in line with the international standards. The aim of the event was to assess all the participant projects, in order to determine the projects qualified to join the Intel BASEF competition, taking place at the BA Conferences Center during the period 10 – 12 March 2012. At the end of the day, the Intel BASEF Judging committee announced that 71 projects were qualified to participate in Intel BASEF, at which the winners of the first three places will be able to represent Egypt at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF), taking place at the USA during the period 8-13 May 2012.
