Copernicus Science Centre 3 December 2014

Yesterday Ecsite member Copernicus (Warsaw, Poland), received a visit from the Parliament’s Innovation Commission. They enthusiastically engaged in activities in “Thinkatorium”, Copernicus Science Centre’s tinkering space.

The world-famous 2-day event will return to Newcastle’s Life Science Centre on 25 & 26 April 2015 and everyone – from roboteers and engineers to crafters, hackers and garden shed inventors – is invited to take part.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center 3 November 2014

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Planetarium Science Center (PSC) proudly presents its first All-Sky production. “Alexandria: The Cradle of Astronomy” show which follows the production of the video- panorama show “The Sky of Alexandria”. For the first time in Egypt, the show is presented using the Digistar 4 projection technology, which allow the viewer to travel in colorful interactive three-dimensional worlds, and to experience an explorative scientific journey through the giant screen.

Life Science Centre is delighted to announce that BODY WORLDS Vital, the world famous exhibition of plastinated bodies has been extended at the Centre until 4 January! BODY WORLDS Vital is an awe-inspiring journey through the human body, celebrating its complexity, beauty and potential. The exhibition brings together a collection of real human bodies, specimens, organs and body slices which have been willed by donors and preserved through Plastination, a ground-breaking method for specimen preservation invented by Dr. Gunther von Hagens.

The call for proposals for the 2015 Ecsite Annual Conference closed yesterday at midnight. We received 168 session proposals (that’s 11 more than last year), 7 pre-Conference workshop proposals, 28 travelling exhibition proposals and 4 project showcase poster proposals!
