In cooperation with The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Planetarium Science Center and with the support of Mercedes-Benz as the main sponsor, the Goethe-Institut Alexandria presents the Science Film Festival 2014 in The Bibliotheca Alexandrina from 4-11 November 2014. The Science Film Festival, initiated by the Goethe-Institut in 2005, is a celebration of science communication. Targeting a young audience with excitingly well-designed science content, the Science Film Festival has grown considerably, becoming the largest event of its kind worldwide. With this year’s theme “Future Technologies” the audience is invited to explore the future and learn about technologies that will shape tomorrow’s world. The Science Film Festival in Alexandria offers an international selection of 12 films dedicated to a wide range of important scientific questions. All chosen films are synchronized with Arabic and/or English and screened in the premises of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The films are complemented with experiments, hands on activities and games to explain and re-enact the scientific correlations.
