But the interdisciplinary MONAS Collective around the sound artist Kurt Holzkämper and the scientist Prof. Dr. Hubert Wiggering transforms the mystical moors into living protagonists. With innovative microphones and sensors, natural sounds and data from plants and greenhouse gases are made audible. These sounds, combined with video and light installations, create a unique audiovisual landscape that makes Moore come alive in a completely new way. The focus is on climate protection: How can we restore drained peatlands to reduce greenhouse gases and allow peatlands to grow again? The event around our current special exhibition "Future Moor!" shows why the preservation of these unique ecosystems is so important for the future.
