The basic mission of Center Noordung is to research, collect and communicate the knowledge of space and space technologies to the public in a way that sensibly connects and intertwines science, economy, tourism and art. We host several permanent exhibitions about space and space technologies, offer VR space experiences, organize professional conferences and school workshops, as well as functioning as a center for social innovation.
The center is named after Herman Potočnik Noordung, one of the pioneers of rocket and space technologies. He is the father of geostationary satelittes and a space station with artificial gravity. His book "Problem of Space Travel - The Rocket Motor" was used as a textbook by architects of the first rockets that flew into space.
