The European Space Agency will support the Space Group to develop events, educational activities and exhibits for Science Centres and Museums related to the Rosetta mission. A “Rosetta kit” will enable the Ecsite members to take part in a campaign related to this most exciting on-going space mission, which will lead to a lander to be released onto a comet surface and retrieve crucial information on the origins of the solar system.
The first step will be to work with Science Centres and Museums in a collaborative way on the definition of these events, educational activities and exhibits.
Training Program for leadership in science centres
The first Euro-Mediterranean and Middle East Summer School, Granada, 22-27 September 2013
Why the EMME Summer School?
The Euro-Mediterranean and Middle East Summer School for Science Communication (EMME Summer School) aims to set-up a Euro-Mediterranean program for science centres and any other organisation working for the public engagement in science, in order to reinforce their capacities, to strengthen dialogue and exchange, and to increase the community of players in the region.
To promote the sharing of ideas, experiences, contacts, etc. several Ecsite LinkedIn groups have been created:
Traveling exhibitions: A place to discuss anything related to traveling exhibitions touring science centres and museums in Europe.
Social media: A group to discuss social media use and impact among science centres and museums.
Scicom Dreams: museums and science centres of the future: A group to share our wildest dreams for sciences centres and museums
**These three groups are sub-groups of the general Science centres and museums in Europe.
Ecsite is helping Città della Scienza restart its activities by coordinating donations of exhibits. This is to facilitate Città’s accumulation of exhibit collections according to the hands-on tradition typical of science centres.
Attached below are step-by-step instructions on how to you can lend an exhibit to Città using the traveling exhibitions database for Europe, www.extrascience.eu.
Please read the instructions carefully as they will help make the loaning process smooth.

I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! has been running successfully in the UK since 2008 and more recently also in Ireland and Australia. There could be possibilities to bring this project to other locations. Here’s the contact information for any Ecsite members who may be interested in pursuing a collaboration with this project: http://imascientist.org.uk/help
This is the main idea behind the project:
I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here! is an online event where school students get to meet and interact with scientists.
