Despite 2020 being a difficult year, Ecsite is still welcoming new members to its community.
OF/BY/FOR ALL is a US based, growing, nonprofit organisation that equips civic and cultural organisations to become more inclusive, relevant, and equitable in partnership with local communities. Founded in 2018, they provide practical tools to help museums, libraries, theaters, and other community organisations move from talk into action when it comes to inclusive work.
Ernesto Páramo, promoter of Ecsite member, Parque de las Ciencias in Granada, has won the Eureka Award for Education and the Dissemination of Science, awarded by Amcsti, an organisation made up of 200 French museums and universities and the French Ministries of Higher Education, Science and Culture. He is the first Spaniard to receive this award, which recognises people from the Mediterranean region for their work as ambassadors of scientific culture.
Ecsite is looking for an individual consultant or a company to design the visual identity and a set of communication tools for the European-funded project - SocKETs. The SocKETs project’s main objective is to enable industry (e.g. manufacturers and suppliers) to engage with citizens in developing Key Enabling Technologies (KETs).
Ecsite is looking for an individual consultant or a company to design the visual identity and the website for the European-funded project - Schools as Living Labs (SALL). The ideal and preferred provider will bring its own ideas and vision based on industry expertise, technical capability, and client relations, guiding us to incorporate our goals into that vision.
COVID-19 has changed the landscape of our industry. Thousands of highly experienced, passionate museum professionals with tremendous expertise are currently unemployed or underemployed. Although separated from their institutions, these professionals believe museums still have the ability to contribute to their communities positively—and many have a desire and a drive to continue to contribute to the field.
Each autumn, Directors and Senior Managers of Full Ecsite members gather for the Ecsite Directors Forum, a mix of strategic talks, peer learning and networking. With the pandemic preventing Directors from meeting face-to-face, Technopolis, the Flemish Science Centre stepped forward to host this high profile event online. 79 participants logged onto Technopolis’ high quality online platform for the two-day event on 29 and 30 October.
