Sparks partners have been working hard to start 2016 with new exciting things telling the world what the project is all about. Curious?
Research shows that the way sciences are communicated to young people is not (yet) gender inclusive. In the last years, many European funded projects have dealt with this issue, especially with the crucial topic of engaging teenagers, and specifically girls into STEM careers. It is a very interesting exercise to analyse these projects as their approaches to the topic show the evolution of gender inclusion theories in the last few years. However, it is not an easy task.
Synenergene is a four years long project funded by the European Commission. It addresses the present and future challenges related to the cooperation between Science and Society in the area of synthetic biology. Ecsite members involved in the project will be organising public engagement activities in 2016.
It might sound weird, but it´s not. RRI Tools Project, with the team from the ZSI, The Social Innovation Centre from Vienna, Austria, are currently working on the last details of the self-reflection tool. What? Yes, a practical set of key questions that will be useful for each of us who are interested in RRI. Because there are many ways we can get aware of how far are we incorporating the values and ways of doing research in a responsible and innovative way.
Deadline is 2 February 2016! Get your conference fee and other mobility projects financed by the European Commission.
