A few things have changed: for instance, an entire section is now dedicated to news and events shared by Ecsite members and another one to Ecsite's partners.
For Ecsite members - new login system
Another new feature is a simplified login system for members: staff of Ecsite member organisations can now use their personal accounts (or create one) to access members-only news or publish items in their organisation's name. The new system works like many social media platforms: individual users belong to a group and are given different degrees of permission to view and/or publish content.
If you work for an Ecsite member, log in and check if you belong to the right group - if not, get in touch with the public contact displayed on your organisation's page in the members directory and ask them to add you to the group.
There are four different possible roles within a group, with increasing levels of permissions:
- Basic user: you can read news published for members only and in the future access services reserved to members
- Content manager: same as previous + you can also publish news and events in your organisation's name and edit its public page
- Membership manager: same as previous + you can add or invite other users to be part of the group and set their roles
- Membership owner: same as previous + you are the person who created the group - you cannot leave the group before having granted this status to someone else (there always needs to be at least one person in each group).
