In June 2017 the Space Awareness project launched the "Space Awareness Celebrating Excellent Space Science Teaching National and Global Competitions" – an international call for teachers around the world to share the creative ways they have used Space Awareness resources to inspire young people with space sciences.
The competition received 70 entries from 14 different countries distributed in 7 National competitions and a Global competition. The 25 winners and runners-up received a Celestron's FirstScope Telescope and educational resources from Space Awareness. All winners also receive recognition badges for schools and individuals, and the publication of the finalist submissions on the Space Awareness website. The list of winners is available on the project website.
Space awareness resources are available online and can be used within science centres and museums with to Stimulate the next generation of space-oriented scientists.
