At a kick-off meeting organized on 2 November 2019 in Beijing by National Academy of Innovation Strategy (NAIST), CAST, scientists from 11 countries agreed to join forces in an international alliance to define, measure and promote scientific culture globally. The WISE alliance (World Investigation in Science Culture) will seek resources to launch an international survey of science culture.

The aim of the WISE is to promote scientific and innovation culture world-wide. In order to achieve this goal, researchers’ teams from fourteen countries agree to work on the definition and measurement of scientific culture via the creation of questionnaires and its dissemination via online enquiries.

Objectives of the WISE Alliance:

• To contribute significantly to the further development of global science and innovation culture indicators
• To set up a coordinated and harmonized approach of previous surveys on scientific culture, e.g. Eurobarometers
• To create an informal international alliance to promote science and innovation culture
