Ecsite’s thoughts go to the friends and families of those who perished or were injured in the Paris terrorist attacks last weekend. We also express our solidarity with our French members, hit hard for the second time this year.

We believe that terrorism finds some of its most vigorous roots in ignorance. As science engagement professionals, we can play a role in shaping the open-minded, democratic societies that will stand up to terrorism – and which science needs to thrive. We will keep using our organisations’ power to engage millions of citizens in dialogue and foster tolerance.
