Within the ERC=Science2 campaign funded by the European Research Council (ERC), the Association ScienceCenter-Network brought these two topics to the Austrian audience on the occasion of science festivals that took place in Vienna.
On September 15th, at the Science Festival of Lower Austria, the EU funded projects attracted around 10,000 visitors who gained information on new approaches to research on Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, while at the European Researcher’s Night (September 29th), professionals presented their research on senses and robotics.
These two events marked the transition towards the new theme the ERC=Science2 project will explore in-depth from October 12th that is dedicated to senses!
Many hands-on activities were proposed to raise people’s interest in sensory perception and technology, and more than 3,000 visitors took part in these interactive activities which promoted dialogue between scientists and the general public.
Two other science centres are introducing the sensory experience research this year. The first one is currently taking place in the Czech Republic and ends on October 12th with the official launch of this new theme of senses. The upcoming event is set on November 14-19 in Parque de las Ciencias, Spain.
